Investigator Coaching Program
Training builds knowledge. Coaching builds skill.
K-12 investigators need a diverse toolkit. They interview children of all ages and abilities, staff, and other cooperative and hostile witnesses. They locate and analyze evidence inside and beyond the school building, write clear and impartial reports, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and school policies, and navigate the roadblocks that every real investigation throws their way. And more.
That skillset doesn't come from a training session. It comes from doing the work, with the right support behind you. Our Investigator Coaching Program provides hands-on mentorship for new and experienced investigators alike. Your investigator works through an actual case with our team at every step to help guide and support them as they go. No simulations. No hypotheticals. Just real guidance when it counts.
How It Works
We start at the beginning. Our team reviews the case file, helps develop the investigative plan, and works through witness identification, evidence collection, and any roadblocks along the way. Before interviews begin, we review outlines and offer concrete guidance. During interviews, we serve as active participants â taking notes, asking follow-up questions, and catching anything that might be missed. After each interview, we provide immediate, specific feedback so your investigator can apply it to the next one.
At the close of the case, we deliver a full performance evaluation that highlights strengths and maps out areas for continued growth.
The Result
A more confident investigator with new skills and techniques to carry with them into future cases. Stronger internal processes. Investigations that are thorough, defensible, and completed on time â with your own staff leading the way.
Who TIs his Program For?
First-timers finding their footing. Schools and institutions standing up an internal investigative function for the first time, whether that's training a new investigator or a team just getting started.
Administrators and counselors in the investigative seat. Staff who have taken on investigative responsibilities and want to build real confidence and competence in the role.
Experienced investigators going deeper. Seasoned investigators looking to sharpen specific skills on Title IX procedures, interviewing children across ages and developmental abilities, evidence handling, complex or high-profile case strategies, managing combative respondents, or trauma-informed approaches.
Attorneys supporting clients through investigations. Legal counsel guiding a client through a sex abuse investigation or allegation who want experienced investigative support alongside them.
Districts building capacity without breaking the budget. Organizations that need a higher level of investigative support but want a cost-effective alternative to bringing in an outside investigator for every case.
