The Chicago Public School’s Office of Inspector General’s Sexual Allegations Unit built and led by Amber and Amy for over six years received significant public, media, and professional attention and accolades for its innovative approach and investigative outcomes to handling sexual misconduct allegations. Unlike other school districts, the CPS Office of Inspector General was required by statute to report to the Chicago Board of Education bi-annually and issue an annual report summarizing its substantiated findings, bringing additional scrutiny and attention to the SAU’s work.

July 2, 2025: CPS dean Brian Crowder was convicted of sexually abusing a former student. CPS SAU also conducted extensive investigation into Crowder's conduct, along with allegations against several other staff members at the same school.
