Amber built and led the Sexual Allegations Unit (SAU) for the Chicago Public Schools Office of Inspector General—the nation’s only independent investigative body with jurisdiction over a broad range of sexual misconduct complaints involving K–12 staff and students.
As Deputy Inspector General for over six years, she supervised 30+ investigators, attorneys, and support staff handling over 450 complaints annually. Known for steady leadership and creative problem-solving, she developed customized strategies to manage high case volumes with limited resources, always prioritizing compliance, investigative excellence, and student safety.
In August 2024, she was appointed Interim Inspector General by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, overseeing the General Investigations and Performance Analysis Units in addition to leading the SAU. In that role, she managed 55 staff members, navigated complex legal issues, and addressed media inquiries on high-profile cases.
Earlier in her career, Amber was a partner at a boutique law firm specializing in high-stakes antitrust, employment-based sexual harassment, and consumer fraud litigation, and later served as General Counsel for three affiliated companies.
She earned her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. In 2023, she became a Certified Inspector General from the Association of Inspectors General and has certifications in Investigation Report Writing, Investigations, Advanced K-12 Training, and Title IX Administrator Certification.

Before co-founding Campus Integrity Group, Amy served as Chief Investigator for the Sexual Allegations Unit (SAU) in the Chicago Public Schools Office of Inspector General, where she led some of the most complex and sensitive investigations involving staff and students. She personally investigated more than 200 complaints—many resulting in criminal charges, significant disciplinary action, and widespread media coverage—and oversaw hundreds more.
As a member of the SAU leadership team, Amy developed and refined policies and procedures, implemented investigative and training protocols, and introduced process improvements that boosted efficiency and quality. She also analyzed trends and data, identifying systemic vulnerabilities, recommending targeted interventions, and informing the district’s prevention efforts, Known for her adaptability and relentless drive, she was frequently selected to lead high-priority assignments and special projects.
Amy began her career as a Chicago Police Officer, gaining foundational investigative and victim advocacy skills that became essential in her later work within educational and institutional settings. Her expertise at the intersection of public safety, education, and civil rights compliance positions her as a trusted leader in institutional integrity, investigative best practices, and misconduct prevention.
Amy holds a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois, along with certifications in K–12 Civil Rights Investigations, Investigative Report Writing, Trauma-Informed Care, Domestic Violence Training, Conflict Resolution, K–12 Title IX Advanced Administration, and Organizational Management.
